i'm confused is the point that there's correlation, or are ppl asserting repub causes unhealthiness(or vice versa)?
/like, if a democrat just says 'fuck life' and goes for the american-body, do their chances of changing party affiliation increase? Or just that states that have unhealthy history also happen to have repub leanings(which would clearly point to WAY more complexities than just those 2 factors)

Im just pointing out that there seems to be a correlation between unhealthy states and red states.

with the implication that ppl's health choices and political affiliation stem for the same psych reasons, or that there's significance outside of correlation?

president obama to consider proposal to construct actual death star by 2016

The Death Star petition on the White House website has gained enough signatures to merit a response from President Obama's administration.

The petition, which calls for the administration to "begin construction of a Death Star by 2016, crossed the mark Thursday for 25,000 signatures, which is the level the White House requires before it will respond.

"By focusing our defense resources into a space-superiority platform and weapon system such as a Death Star, the government can spur job creation in the fields of construction, engineering, space exploration, and more, and strengthen our national defense," the petition reads.

Natalie M from Minneapolis was the 25,000th signature, and it came just one day before the Dec. 14 cutoff for the petition.

LOLZZZZZ
But on a serious note weaponizing space is a bad idea we already got enough nukes in this goddamn world. Enough with the weapons and more with investing in our schools and better transportation for the entire country.

find myself agreeing w/ captainheroin again here. Instead of "what's better to spend the cash on?", let's start asking why we spend so much in teh 1st.

Nothing would illustrate the senseless division between rich and poor than to go ahead with a project like this one.

Besides, for any big space project to have long-term viability we have to solve a lot of our shit here on earth first. So far half of the world's steel would rather end up in China for building shitty ugly sky-scrapers than go into space for the advancement of human kind.

I am skeptical about the idea of there being aliens, but if I were an alien I would have to interpret a planet sized weapon as a threat. LOL

Oh, and yeah we really need to give the DOD more money.
