Yeh, def indigestion Spade, glad I only had a small portion otherwise I'd be in agony. Suffer enough just being human without piling on more crap!

I've been on Alfalfa for a few months now, and I find it keeps my movements regular. I used to have a real problem with lethergy and general bloatedness.

Finally had Pizza :) ! One veggy thing - the other had the remains of a chicken kebab on top of it :D

Do you take it in the form of a pill or what?

I am totally broke until Tuesday so I have made a huge pile of chilli, so I am gonna be eating just that if I can make it last until Monday evening.

How are you at baking max? When you get paid and can stock up, what about bread flour and easy yeast (dead cheap) but can make a multitude of nice filling things for little dosh from it. What about dhal? homemade pizza? do you like that kinda thing...

Nowt like a decent chilli to keep you going mind <3 the stuff.

If I had to survive on anything for days on end it would be chilli. My favourite dish and I cook a mean chilli too.

Do you ever add a little lentils or grated carrot to bulk out the mince in it Spade? I've been doing that for health reasons but finding it tasted bloody great too.

Get some tins of tomatoes / blend them / reduce them for pasta / pizza sauce etc. You can normally buy big bags of rice / pasta for next to nowt in most supermarkets which are always a great thing to stock up on (cost nothing to cook, can be cooked in bulk, can be mixed with pretty much anything else to make a good meal)

I would say curry would be my number one thing and have gone days eating it :D

Nah I wouldn't ruin perfectly good chilli with lentils and I'm not sure about carrots in it. The mince gets plenty bulked out with the onions, peppers, tomato and kidney beans anyway.

I'm not great in the kitchen Kate but luckily for me I have a flatmate that is pretty handy I that department.
We are usually ok for food but cash has been a bit tight lately since I lost my job so we are looking into ways of making less go further.

Spend a bit on some spices / floor / yeast etc one month. Its amazing what a dash of this etc can add to a bog standard tin of tomatoes which you can eat over something like pasta. 3 cups of floor / half a packet of instant yeast an a bit of oil/water = home made pizza dough. Add to that a tin of chopped toms with herbs or spices (that you like) some cheese, half an onion (keep the other half in tinfoil or a crisp packet) until you want it and anything else you fancy. Home made pizza for next to nowt! I would say a decent tub of curry powder (if you like curry) is a great thing to have!

We're all at it love, austerity measures and whatnot. Spade;s mum does his meal budgeting so me mindful of that, he doesn't count. This forum is full of great ideas, plenty I've taken on myself. Saves a fortune too, especially by menu planning and not wasting stuff and fab recipes for cheap healthy meals for less.

Maybe the cook in your house might like some of the ideas...

Thanks for the ideas people I shall certainly investigate them and point the chef in the house in the right direction.

Had this last night, quite good, now I'm having a bacon sandwich. The pizza did cause me heartburn as well.

This is the best for when you drink too much or have too many fried and fatty foods.

Artichoke, Milk Thistle and Turmeric.

I've been taking Milk Thistle for years in a lot of different preparations, it's great for the skin and works as a liver tonic

I've downloaded Instagram now I can be an outright twat with the food pics, I've joined the zombie legions!

Just cooked two of these:

I don't use burger buns as I feel they taste artificial and shit, not like the bread I've used is much better mind. Put some tzatziki on the tomatoes and the burgers, I like tzatziki, it's like youghourt with cucumbers and mint, lovely and fresh.

That's my bumbaclat afternoon snack

My reasoning for putting the tzatziki on the burgers is that it usually taste awesome on lamb burgers, kangaroo burgers do taste quite similar to lamb and so it's a good combination. By the way still hungry wtf is wrong with me?

That burger looks good but I reckon it needs a bun rather than the bread.

Just ate an Innocent veggie pot, Indian dahl. Not bad and 3 of my 5 a day in that little tub so that's good.

I noticed them in the Co-Op the other day, they sort of look okay, for the offer price anyway....still a pricey way of serving up veg...I was close to buying one...

They are like £1.80 or something atm in my Co-op but normal price is over £3 which I wouldn't pay. No one seems to be buying them so they have been reduced a lot but only like 20p. It's an easy and fairly tasty way to get 3 servings of veg without too much hassle, 4 mins in the micro.
