Honestly, who feels sorry for the shot car thieves?

Does anyone seriously feel an ounce of sorrow for them?

They ran down an innocent girl and if not shot might have run down 50 more. They had records that ran back years.

I'm sick of hearing of "disadvantaged" as an excuse. At some point you have to accept responsibility for your actions. And if your actions involve stealing a car and running down innocent people on a sidewalk, I'd be the first to celebrate your departure from this life if I was next in line on said sidewalk.

They didn't give a fuck about people and they got shot by people that did. Simple.

Disadvantaged or not, surely you are still able to discern right from wrong. Life is about choices. They clearly made the wrong one.

not an ounce of sympathy over here. and even less care for the mundines of this world that will perpetuate the 'hard done by' bullshit they seem to think justifies their actions. if these guys had any balls (or brains) at all they would come out in support of the police in this instance and send a proper message to their community.

i don't feel sorry for the kids, what they did was obviously wrong but the pigs were throwing in the dirty dog shots as they do, do two wrongs make a right.
kid had been shot twice and cuffed clearly not going anywhere and he's got pigs beating the shit out of him, why to teach him a lesson...those cops lost their little minds and also broke the law, will they be brought to justice?

why did the pigs need to beat up on the two lads that had been shot, why? are those pigs in uniform superior human beings?

cops are fucked, they are dogs, corrupt scum!

No sympathy whatsoever for shot or tasered criminals breaking the law. The police need to be policed, however if you don't do anything wrong in the first place, the chances of being shot, tasered or beaten up by cops is minimal.

And who knows what happened while those kids were on the ground. They could have been spitting on the cops or anything. I don't give a rats arse if they got some punishment from the arresting officer. With the weak as piss justice system we have for repeat offenders, its probably the worst punishment they will ever get. Dickheads will always be dickheads and cops will alway be cops. As long as you stay out of the way of either group then you have nothing to worry about.

Quoted for fuckin WORD

scumbags like that deserve what is coming to them...

it's the same as people who complain after being injured during a high speed chase..

i'm sorry, but if you act like a fuckwit, expect karma..

if you weren't doing anything wrong, chances are you wouldn't have been injured..

i wonder how they would be treated if they were children of police officers or judges or lawyers?

what they did was wrong without question but i still feel empathy for them...

firstly, at the time of the arrest, there was no way that the police could have known who they were dealing with, or who their parents were..

secondly, it shouldn't matter who their parents are..

i'm the son of a carpenter... doesn't mean that i'm jesus..

tell that to the family of that kid from brazil that the cops murdered in sydney.
i'm amazed that people on an australian drug forum could be so cold-hearted towards "criminals breaking the law".
but then again, people in this country are some of the most easily manipulated in the world (by the media) so i'm not that surprised.
you guys been watching today tonight, yeah?
i'm not saying those kids didn't deserve to be arrested for such life-threateningly dangerous behaviour, but if you think that justifies police brutality...well, i guess there's not much i can say to change your mind.

i'm with laugh - fuck the police.

If they didn't want a shooting/beating then perhaps they should have stopped their car and put up their hands. It wasn't like the police didn't give them plenty of warning. What are the police supposed to do after they warn them and they still proceed to thrash around and resist arrest? Blow their whistle?

You can't compare a victimless crime like drug use with a pack of hoods who drove onto a crowded footpath and ran over an innocent by stander.

I'm with the rest of civilised society- fuck the little punks, hope they get a beating in jail.

People who stop and answer to the police as you should if you have nothing to hide dont get shot or tazzed, it's the ones who resist or act violently that get shot.

We dont live in a society of anarchy, the police are there to do a job, if you run or resist you take the risk.

Fuck the police? No thanks, they help me if some crazy cunts are breaking into my house and trying to steal my shit and rape my dog. (high on bath salts of course)..

Its nice that you guys still believe that the cops are "good guys" - im glad that not everybody is as cynical as i am, but ive seen enough police acting like animals to not trust them one bit.

I dont think kids should endanger people's lives in stolen cars, but nor do i believe said kids should be shot then beaten by "law enforcement".
The attitude that "if youve got nothing to hide, youve got nothing to fear" is a total cop-out (no pun intended).

Excessive force by police is not only handed out to "criminals" (note the case i mentioned above of the brazillian student in sydney) and extrajudicial violence by law enforcement does not deserve our praise.
Police weapons should only be used in life-or-death situations. Running from police does not constitute a threat to the officer or the general public.
I think the kids in the stolen car were absolutely doing the wrong thing, and even if the officer was justified in opening fire, the beating of a gunshot-wounded minor is not really a good look IMO.
all this baying for blood is really draconian. I dont empathise with car thieves, but i sure as hell dont empathise with violence perpetrated by thugs of the state either.
If i hadnt seen my best friend get kicked by police when i was 18, i might understand your point of view, but i dont think police violence has a place in australian society. "civilised society" - thanks for the giggle busty.

I'm sure if they war running they would have been able to escape from a couple of police. As it stands there was a women wedge under the front of their car so I guess that must have foiled their escape.

They should have been punished by their parents a long time before the police did every one a favour. At 14 you should be doing home work and eating dinner with your parents around the dining table.

They lack respect for our society and the behaviour that we expect. They thumbed their nose at the police and copped a hiding in response. You reap what you sow.

...in an ideal world, sure. but if you want to ignore all of the social problems that exist and contribute to juvenile delinquency and just talk about "honestly, who feels sorry for the shot car thieves" - i gotta say i do feel sorry for anyone that is up to their necks in shit by that age.
clearly they have no hope of ever being part of the "civilised society" you speak of. yes, people have choices - but people don't choose to be brought up in shitty situations.
you're showing your bourgeois bias with this "eating dinner with your parents around the dining table" business.

Yeah i see both sides to this debate of course, I do realise not all police are good people and some use excessive force and shouldn't.
