I like sweet potato casserole too. I chop two quarters of butter and add that with half a box of brown sugar and handful of cinnaman. get that all mixed up and bake it til its gooey then put the marshmellows last 10 minutes. Til they are puffy and a little brown... gotta watch them.
and I like the turkey heart and liver cooked and mixed in with the stuffing. and walnuts if it doesn't have walnuts I won't eat it.
I like to eat the crunchy parts of salty skin too....
Shopping. I'm outta here.

I like anything that's made from plants and is homemade. :) I'm not too picky--Mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce, ... All good in my book.

I think my favorite holiday appetizer from when I could eat dairy-based ingredients though, had to be pumpernickel bread with this Ranch-style dip in the center. It's not Ranch dressing, but I'm not sure how to describe it as I haven't had it in many years.

Oh good god, my stomach lurched just from looking at that. Soooooo tasty, but sooooo much dairy!

Speaking of so much dairy, I'd probably say my mashed potatoes. 5 kg potatoes + 1 lb butter, 1/2 L cream, 1 head roasted garlic, salt & pepper to taste and a tiny bit of nutmeg at the end for great justice. Doesn't need so much as a drop of gravy, but plays well with it if one simply must add some. Needless to say, I'm working on a non-dairy version; the discovery of cashew cream is bringing some hope my way.

fried brussels sprouts.

i usually brine my turkey, then wrap it in bacon. i like to make cider gravy to go along with it. i got the idea from this recipe altho i haven't used the recipe in several recipe years and vary it based on what i have on hand.

OMG, Stuffing(yes that cheap shit) and pumpkin pie are two of my favorite classics!

But add this beauty to your list: Green Bean Bundles. I make them every year now, per request of my whole family!

the cherry red jello and cool whip of course.

although after brushing up on my jello recipes I kinda want to try some blue sky and cloud jello, mmm mmm.

a_c: Have you tried roasted brussels sprouts? They're like fried, but less fat, and just as awesome!

(plus you finish it with nice, crunchy finishing salt....)

^i like roasted brussels sprouts too. but roasting doesn't give you the super crispy pieces (like the above pic that are almost chip like) you get with deep frying.

last year i made roasted cauliflower with raisins and walnuts instead of stuffing. it was yummy.

All those look real good!!
i've decided to make some nann'er puddin.
Banana-Pudding.jpg

maybe its a southern thing, this is the best dessert for anything, and if i were around with the indians and pilgrams id so bring a dish of nanna puddin.

some1 in my family has gluten problems or whatever, which sorta sucks because all the food there is gluten free for the most part. so everything tastes to weird.
since my nanna puddin isnt gluten free im sure everyone will nom it up.

What's your favorite Thanksgiving food?

Well it's getting to that time of the year again! So here's a simple question. What's your favorite Thanksgiving food?

I'll have to say turkey has always been my favorite and still is! How about you guys?

Wow, this thread is full of such exotic dishes I've never heard of, let alone eaten. I would love to experience a traditional Thanksgiving dinner sometime in my life.. might add that to my list of long-term goals. :)
