Yep, normal. It's tolerance. Take a break or eat edibles, however edibles will skyrocket tolerance. Maybe invest in a vape pen and take little hits as needed?
Back when I was an all-day-every-day toker, this made weed smoking lose all it's value. Nowadays, I don't smoke before work and only smoke one bowl at a time (as opposed to ripping several bowls at once), rarely totaling more than 3 bowls a night now, spread out over several hours. This allows me to come home after a long day at work, sit on my deck and get BLASTED, every day, reliably without tolerance building too high. You gotta allow yourself to come down to feel yourself going up, otherwise it's just maintenance.
Try an experiment, like I did. First, try going to work without getting stoned and see how it affects your day. I find my day goes way faster and I'm generally happier at work, less zombified and numbed up. Then, reward yourself with that bowl after work, watch how stoned you get just from simply holding off a few hours, not even days.
Also, another thing to try is smoke just one good solid hit and put down the bowl, let that one single hit set in over the course of the next hour or so. You'll be surprised how stoned you get and for how long, and you'll realize that smoking that 2nd, 3rd, 4th bowl atop of the first hit you took doesn't actually get you all that much higher. This worked for me. Now, this is the only way I smoke, just one, fat hit.
Another thing to do is buy some really low grade, leafy shake and keep a jar of it on hand all the time. Allow yourself to run out of your good weed and simply smoke this crappy stuff for a day or two before resupplying with good stuff. You're still smoking, you'll be surprised with how stoned you got with this crappy weed (and differently stoned because it's a different strain), and then when you get your hands on the good stuff again, haha lookout!!!
