Hey, just wondering is it possible to smoke Scopolamine by dissolving it in water mixing it with tobacco then smoking once dried? What is the dosage like? on par with oral? Are the effects shorter?
thanks!

Apparently it is possible. Just Google 'smoking scopolamine' and you can read some trip reports. One factor to consider would be whether one plans on crushing up scopolamine tablets of a known dosage, or using plant material from the Solanaceae family (genus Datura or Brugmansia. Plant material is renowned for having wildly varying ratios of scopolamine, atropine, hyoscyamine and other anticholinergic alkaloids. This makes it very hard to titrate the dose accurately. If one plans on using tablets, the solubility depends on whether you have the hydrochloride salt, etc. It is alleged to have been done successfully with 1 20mg. tablet.

Just remember, this is not the chemical you want to overdose. It can kill you, and said death from hyperpyrexia and seizures is not pretty. From personal experience with dried Angel Trumpet leaves, this chemical is the only substance that gave me true hallucinations, where I knew who and where I was but truly believed what I was seeing was real. I watched the room fill with bugs coming from the baseboards, all swarming toward me. Not wanting to be eaten alive by these 'bugs,' I finally worked up the courage to bolt barefoot through them, right out of the house. I called my family and told them to send an exterminator, and a damned good one. I almost had a heart attack. When I went back inside, there were raccoons, squirrels, and other assorted wildlife making all sorts of weird calls and noises. They had taken over the house. There was no insight like that found with the phenylethylamines, no joy whatsoever. Just abject terror. This shit was flat out terrifying. I would never do it again, for any amount of money. Please, tread carefully. And BTW, physostigmine is the antidote for anticholinergic poisoning. Best given by a doctor, but why go there?

Pbuilder and Verbum:

The only reason I can only envision this being used (with knowing intent; understanding of the effects) is to torture one's enemies. It has no recreational role.
(btw, it was not hallucinations you saw; you were under the influence of delusions.)

OP:

Just don't.

Seriously... as if orally dosed deliriants weren't terrifying enough, you want those delusions to be even more intense?

Also, I'd venture to guess that these "hallucinations" attained from smoking deliriants will be even more terrifyingly real than taking them through the oral route, since they hit you so fast and so intensely that it is that much harder to distinguish them from reality versus their orally-attained counterparts.

Wow, please be careful. I admit, I had no idea scopolamine was used recreationally. Why would anyone choose an extremely powerful drug like scopolamine over less dangerous deliriants? All I know is that scopolamine was the last medicine administered to my dad in palliative care...

Good point. I agree fully - it would make one hell of a torture agent...

Scopolamine was used as an anaesthetic in the past with Morphine in a formulation called 'Twilight Sleep.' I don't think it is marketed anymore, but I'm sure an anaesthesiologist could concoct it. I have ample experience with Hycodan syrup, which contains Hydrocodone 5mg/ml and a small amount of hyoscyamine. I imagine that since the former is an opioid, while the latter is an anticholinergic, they produce roughly comparable effects. In theory, the hyoscyamine is added to Hycodan syrup to prevent abuse by a) reducing the euphoric properties of hydrocodone and b) making it hard to take too much, as the side effects from increasing doses of hyoscyamine become, well, increasingly unpeasant. I never found this to be the case, but FYI.

pbuilder summed it up pretty well: 'WHY?!?'

I have heard that smoking Brugmansia could be safe and interesting if used in tiny amounts. I am well informed on the tropane alkaloids, and there are one or two positive reports per several hundred negative, all sharing a few key details: dose was very low and consumed cautiously (ingestion of a tiny amount, waiting, then following with another tiny dose, etc.).
