Well, I used to smoke a lot of cannabis, at least 25 grams a week, every day, from morning till evening, on every single location and in every single situation, I was definitely addicted to it, then I had to stop growing and I decided to stop smoking as well, after that I also started to sleep differently.
My dreams became less vivid, I often had lucid dreams but I stopped having those after smoking weed.
The last past years I had periods that I woke up after 4 hours of sleep and was completely awake, couldn't sleep anymore no matter what, that went away again, but it comes back in periods, this can go on for months on end, it's a very frustrated feeling, you become tired real early, you fall asleep very easily, only to be wide awake after 4 hours, exactly 4 hours usually.
I now smoke weed again to deal with stress, but not that often, and definitely not like I used to, only a few tokes get me in the perfect mindset, and only indicas with particular medicinal effects, I avoid sativas because I think too many sativas definitely messed up my dopamine centre, and contributed to my anxiety levels being so high.
I often smoke DMT and the next day I feel kinda drained, so I believe 5-HT2C receptor activation is probably the root of my problem as well, but it can also be from being overtrained, since I workout 5 times a week, and my central nervous system can't always handle the heavy workload without proper recovery, so I'm not sure what the cause is in my case.
I do think it's a good idea to consult a doctor before taking those supplements though.
