you are welcome. I'm ADHD by myself, diagnosed with 31. The diagnose progress lasts quite long if really done, I think I needed at about 3 months. i have to remember his first question and have to smile: " Did you ever take speed?" - "No, I tried a lot of drugs, but always when somebody offered me Speed my answer was "I'm nervous enough I don't need "my motor" running faster( I guess you know what I mean with "my motor")." And he was like: "Oh noooooooo" I had to laugh and told him that I never met a physician who was unhappy because I'm telling him I never used Speed. He explained me: "ADHD is a Dopamine-metabolism-lack" in your brain. You metabolise your Dopamine(its a Neurotransmitter amongst others) which you produce quite normally but much too fast and the next brain cell is not "playing aroung" with it - it's immediately eaten...- there your nervosity, your motor comes from. And if your friends and you, you take Speed together, and everybody is dancing but not you, you go home and sleep well - ah - this would be a big hint"
It lasted a while and was exhausting to find the correct medication because I had so many side effects that it affected my job in many negative ways, so we ( no I was) trying everything thats on the market 8 years ago. Now I take Amphetaminsulfate and it works, no side effects, nothing. I don't feel it even, my working day is just much much easier today because I'm a little bit slowlier which makes me think and talk slowlier and this alone is great.
Meanwhile there are other forms to treat it also Biofeedback-stuff, but still I don't try it. Im satisfied that I after 8 years false diagnoses and I don't know how many false meds i felt comfortable for the first time.
So p lease be patient, it's worth it!
