Not much interest in amphetamines in the UK these days we're all about coke coke coke. Meth as I understand it has some limited popularity in the London gay scene but that's about it.

To answer OP it's because most of it is imported and you have very strict customs in Aus. This is why every drug is so expensive over there. I've heard of people paying $10-20 for a single Xanax bar! Fuck! And about the same for just a single 5mg dex pill! Howwwww?

And how much are pingers over there? Heard some even more insane prices for those. Tenner a pop on the street or £2.50 a pop DNM in the UK.

in NZ it would be around around 20-25 pounds a pinger on the street when they are in plentiful supply unless your buying over 100 at a time. In more dry times they can fetch up to 35 pounds.

To be fair if these are the proper strong ones like we get here, the ~250mg Dutch presses, that's still not a bad price at £20 considering the context of your market. When it gets to £35 that's a bump though.

Think of the population of Australia and then the populations of places like USA and the Phillipines. Much bigger so more demand therefore more product,more labs and more Capitol.

True the Mexican cartel (sinaloa) saw how much was being made by the USA gangs who were producing Meth and pushed into the market with their own product. They are now the biggest suppliers in the USA.

Same problem as every place with a limited supply that drives prices up, nobody wants to be the first to lower prices and sell more as that would mean having to import bigger quantities for a smaller profit.
Plus being the only one with good prices and quality in an area mean all kinds of unwanted attention, especially people overdosing as they did not believe they could get a good deal for a low price, but also just your name being mentioned too much.
Ultimately most people in the drug trade are aiming to multiply the initial money many times over in just a short amount of time.
Just to give an example, up to a few years ago in my native city MDMA crystal was easily sold for 100€ per gram, Ketamine for 60€ per gram, and good quality hashish for 20€ per gram and one blotter would sell for 20€ as well, and I mean any blotter, including low dose low quality LSD as well as DOXs.
That meant that people with a good out of city connection could make huge profits without having to get discounted prices by buying bulk quantities, which comes with an increase of the risks involved and of the complexity of the operation.
The cause of this situation was similar to what happens in AUS, Law Enforcement having a lot of resources and applying them to drug trade.
Ofcourse it is impossible to actually stop it completely, but given that AUS is an island same as my town, it is possible to limit supply to a point where prices are driven up.
