Why does GHB have such strong effects?

Aye, i fucked up with the GBL too..and while not opioid dependent, narcan brought me round.

I would be very interested in studying the GHBr, its effects on glutamate release, and one drug I would be interested in seeing is a GHBr positive allosteric modulator.

I wonder if GHBr antagonists like phaclofen and saclofen might be potential antidotes to a GHB overdose, and going off some nasty experiences I had in coming off GBL, VERY nasty experiences I might add, there was a 'sweet spot' just before withdrawing where I was not anxious, but was perfectly organized, thrn it went into OCD territory. I rember perfectly, how I would be able in that time, to systematize everything, organize, tidy, etc....now I don't use G at all, and even years after abusing the stuff....I still have memory problems, and wonder if it and excitotoxicity might be involved.

I'd be very curious to see what the effects of a GHBr allosteric modulator were in me.
