Why do junkies have an easier time getting drugs than pain patients?

addicts use drug seeking behavior for one reason... because it works. It just depends on how bad you want it, not how bad you need it. Doctors are just people. They're not magical and they don't honestly know how much pain you're in. Another side question.... if someone is injured and gets into the higher doses of pain medication for an extended amount of time, are they now a junkie?

Doctors not being magic is no excuse. They are treating their patients like drug addicts and under treating their pain. Fucking assholes. Somebody should bust their shins so they can remember what pain feels like so they can have a little compassion.

I think people should get as much medication as they need to be pain free, and if somebody gets extra and gets high, thats their own problem if its a problem at all. First and foremost TREAT THE PEOPLE WHO ARE IN PAIN. If you dont, you are not doing your job.

Doctors should give patients the benefit of the doubt. Pain can be horrible to live with. Addiction is NOT worse than chronic pain.
