Ive tried nutmeg recreationally and that's known to induce panic attacks as bad as weed. Even pharmaceuticals drugs like antipsychotics (risperidone, promethazine) and antihistamines like diphenhydramine can cause anxiety in large doses.

Why is this?

Nutmeg could have many reasons for causing anxiety its crude with many compounds.

But, anticholinergics could cause anxiety probably because they block the parasympathetic nervous system (the rest and digest part of your nervous system) which produces sympathetic (the fight or flight part of your nervous system) like effects causing rapid heart rate flushed skin pupil diation ect.
