Misc Why do anti-seizure meds make myoclonus WORSE?

It just feels paradoxical to me. I take Depakote for grand mal seizures and Gabapentin for pain and they both make my Myoclonic Seizures worse/ really exacerbate myoclonus in general.
Why is this? Gabapentin is even a muscle relaxer!
 
Yeah apparently it's a paradoxical effect of the drug. Pregabalin does the same to me in high doses and when I take it with tramadol it's a thousand times worse. Weird stuff.
 
positive or negative myoclonus?
By which I mean contraction of the muscles, or lapse of contraction?
Also do you know the general cause of your seizures?
