My friend's 3rd cousin has taken 25 mg of hydrocodone today. He took 5 of the 5mg/365 apap generic norco pills within 3 hours. First, he took 2 pills. About 30 minutes later, he took another along with 25mg diphenhydramine and a couple bowls of herb, Then, about 15 minutes after that, he took the last 2. He said that he didn't notice any opiod feeling effects from this. Why is this? He is only 150 pounds, and is opiod naive, his only opiod/ opiate experince before this was codeine syrup, which was very warm and euphoric.

He is really diappointed that he got no effects. Why would this happen? It may be relevant to add that he was abusing DXM every weekend for a year, but since has stopped all dxm use. The reason this may be relevant is because he has a heavy tolerance to dxm, which is structurally related to opiods and is derived from morphine, therefore, this may have given him a cross-tolerance. Any more explanations? Thanks, and sorry if this post is not allowed or in the wrong section.
------------UPDATE-----------
He took 250 mg propylhexedrine one hour ago. (Basically a substance in benzedrex that is very chemically related to methamphetamine, and affects him the same way Adderall does) He also just smoked another bowl.

He now feels the propylhexedrine, and instead of a super speedy amped up mind racing feeling he usually gets, he felt a relaxed but energetic euphoric high.
He guesses that either the hydro was subtle, or just not affecting his mind much, or the propylhexedrine reacted with it and made a unique high. He believes that he would have never felt the hydrocodone had he not taken the propyl. I still don't know why it didn't work on its on and with weed.

This is not suitable for advanced drug discussion.

If your friend has used opioids before, he's not opioid naive.

You're probably just expecting too much from the hydrocodone.
