What the heck happened here?

Ive read about this before, but its been awhile, I saw some people claim it was sundogs or other naturally occurring events, but Ive never heard of sundogs fighting with each other or going down in smoke! LOL Plus if it was something natural, the people would have seen them before, it would not have been a big enough deal for someone to make a wood carving of.

I think these people got a very rare glimpse of something happening on a different 'plane'.

Anyone care to guess?

My thoughts about it is that we can´t be alone in such an infinite world.
As I heard once, it would be a huge waste of space if it was all about us in Earth.
We just don´t know what it is but I bet other civilizations knows more about us than us about them.
