What is the role of the chakras? Mainly, what do they do?

Also, when you put them all together, is there a grander role that they all play?

Previously, I thought that each chakra was it's own individual mini mind and that there was no central role in all chakras being completely aligned. Upon reading the book, Becoming Supernatural, the author put forth that the chakras work like a ladder. That ladder is intended to bring energy up from on chakra to the next, but if they are out of balance (not centered) then it can be very difficult to translate information from one chakra to the next and so on.

Any opinions or expertise, please bring it here.

This thread is for discussing both roles of individual chakras as well as the entire chakra system working in tandem.

Ye some kind a ladder.Must have free flow of energy between them. This chakras persist in Kabala too.Splints of energy...some kinds. All technics of relaxation and meditation, chinese tzi gun and so on are based on clear flow between this..People,that claimed to "see"ilness actually may seen disrupted flow or dark coloured places in the energitic field.Thats how i imagine

They are just different expressions of universal energy. When they are open then we are living our authentic selves and we are more closer to our souls or higher selves and we can enjoy life and have peace and joy and we can also feel things more and have more healthy relationships but when they are closed that means we are living inauthentically and we are resisting the fundamental energy of the universe that gives us life and it ultimately causes us to have disease and die which is what happens when you prevent this fundamental energy from coming through.

Root chakra(red) is for lower based stuff like expressing anger and grounding yourself to the physical dimension and embracing the subtleties of that particular existence. Competition and survival of the fittest stuff. If it is closed then you are not rooted or grounded and cannot have a stable foundation in this dimension. The sacral shakra(orange) is about sensation and sexuality. Solar plexus(yellow) is for self confidence and security and stability and living authentically. The heart chakra(green) is for expressing love and empathy and compassion and unity. The throat chakra(blue) is for self expression and being able to release your inner truth through primarily your vocal chords. If this is open you can project your voice and have words and thoughts and feelings just naturally flow out of you. Third eye(indigo) is the one most associated with psychics and has to do with intuition and imagination and creativity and seeing through other dimensions. It is also the key to dissolving boundaries and illusions that plague our society and integrates/unites all opposing ideologies and arguments and perspectives. The crown chakra(violet) is for enlightenment and ascension. This is the chakra that was most noticeable in people like Jesus and Buddha. It is usually associated with people of that sort. That is why most depictions of them have a halo. Because when the crown chakra is open it surrounds the head area. And it is for transcending dimensions and fulfilling your true spiritual destiny and becoming an enlightened spiritual master. The colors are synonymous with the electromagnetic spectrum.

If all of the chakras are open to maximum capacity then you are literally living your authentic life and you are the actual embodiment of your eternal soul. As opposed to the mindless discombobulated state of a socialized human who lives with many insecurities and traumas and brainwash that cripple our minds. Everything in this society is designed to damage the chakras. Not just close them but actually attack and abuse our chakras. That is why there is so many sick people and murderers and rapists. There chakras were beaten down as children and is perpetuated by tv and video games and porn. Even the food and drinks that we consume are designed to attack the chakras. But they play the role of expressing the unique faculties of life that we all experience and have difficulties with at times but also have really good experiences with them. When we do something significant that opens our chakras like expressing your true self, then you can feel the relief of letting the universal life energy flow through you. That is why it feels good to tell the truth and be honest and stuff like that. That is why it feels good to have sex and to have meaningful fulfilling experiences that enrich your life and give you joy.

It is important to mention that not everyone agrees with eachother on what the chakras do and the purpose of them. I don’t consider myself a spiritual teacher but if you were to ask various people who classify themselves as that they will not agree on some things and will say something different. It can be quite frustrating but ultimately you have to figure out which explanation you feel good about. A lot of times the chakras will coincide and work together so it can be confusing and maybe even inaccurate to even try to separate them as I just did but for the sake of this dimension and the way we communicate in this dimension this is how they work. And they even work on different body parts which is why when they are closed people can develop cancer and other diseases and closed chakras are the reason for ALL mental illness.

There are some discrepancies between the examples you've listed here and what I've read, but I think a lot of people can agree that the three lower chakras are more geared towards survival.

Having felt the flow of chakras moving energy up along my central breathing tube I honestly think that the energy within these three (with sacral chakra being slightly more difficult) chakras moves quite easily and usually without much resistance. I think the problem people might face with moving energy up through these three centers to the heart chakra and so on is that we forget to think like children, using the influence of these creative energies to supply higher brain functions like a healthy imagination.

But, yes, like you said; I think agreements on these things are sometimes hard to reach. Key word associations for each chakra seem to overlap and intermingle, depending on which source or who you ask.

That only depends on the type of person and their capabilities. For me personally I feel less resistance to the upper chakras than I do the lower ones because I resist the physical dimension and I resist adulthood. I don’t particularly believe that ascending up the chakra ladder is necessary. If you open all your chakras individually in any order it still reaches the same goal. There is consequences of course. If you have open third eye and crown chakra but don’t have your lower base chakras aligned then you are more likely to become schizophrenic or demon possessed.

And the resistance I was referring to in my last post is the inherent resistance within society to disregard and deny and abuse ALL of the chakras because of trauma and socialized behaviors. Not just the difficulty associated with opening them individually.
