How many beers does it take to get an average adult male to get drunk for the night. Let's say we are talking about a light beer. 4.2% abv

In regards to health, is drinking 8 light beers the same as drinking around 6 regular strength beers.

What is "drunk?" How long is a piece of string? People's tolerances vary greatly and some of this is inherent, genetic, but of course also majorly depends on the amount of alcohol they often consume.

As a reference point, what you need is here—a BAC calculator.

So, plugging in some numbers, if we take a 180 pound man. 6 beers over 2 hours gives a BC of 0.10 which I think is a decent reference point for being at reasonably drunk. 0.08 is the usual limit for drunk driving.

But some people may function fine at 0.10. Some might be quite impaired at 0.04. A chronic alcoholic might function at 0.20 and above, even to levels that would be fatal to an ordinary person. It varies widely.
