Smoking meth off foil is actually a brilliant alternative to the glass pipe. The main drawback is that you need good technique at "chasing the dragon" so you don't let too much smoke escape.
The next drawback is the whole aluminium/Alzheimer's link, which is pretty scary, but "safe foil" can be obtained from some needle exchanges or easily purchased online.
