Ooh, you've bit! ;) Yeh, Screamadelica was alright for the young 'uns at the time, but I couldn't help feeling it sounded a little contrived ( i.e. 'shit, we've been brought up to hate hippies but now suddenly it's dead 'trendy again, better release a 'psychedelic' album' - only it wasn't, was it?). No, The Orb did a much better job ;)

Ahem, anyway, I just think Screamadelica would have been much better with just 3 tracks - 'I'm losing more than I'll ever have' (segued into), 'loaded', then with 'movin on up' as the reprise. Tell me I'm wrong... ;)

Edit: EXTRMNTR is the tits...

Well, that would have made it an EP, not an album. :p However I do agree that their massive change in musical direction was a bit suspect. But who cares; it's a fucking classic.

I did not know you were a Smiths fan, my dear Sproutie. I bet you didn't know that I'm the biggest Smiths fan you've never met either. They would be my specialist subject on Mastermind - in fact someone actually did that once, and I scoffed at the guy's pitiful performance.

Anyway, I better stop talking about music before Shambles gives me into trouble. :p

No, just that it's a general term of abuse for The Smiths.. ;)

(Actually, my 'guilty pleasures' in the 80s consisted of The Smiths and whatever Jimmy Somerville was in - oh, and Soft Cell).

Bugger, I think I have just exposed myself as gay...
 
Morrisey is Bi sexual but the rest are straight, I think, why should anythjng be a "guilty pleasure", that just says you're insecure and too worried abkut what people think.

Edit: by 'guilty pleasure' I meant I secretly liked their music, even though it wasn't the genre I followed at the time. Bugger all to do with their sexuality you bigoted fuck ;)
