Hi! We are Dr. Elizabeth Nesoff’s research team from the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine. We are reaching out to you today to share an exciting research opportunity.

The purpose of this study is to understand people’s thoughts on and experiences with harm reduction health services. If you are over 18, live or work in New York City, and have used drugs in the past 3 months, then you may qualify for a research study on your experiences with harm reduction health services. Eligible participants will complete a 30-minute survey and receive a $20 gift card.

Inclusion Criteria:
  • Must be 18 years old or older.
  • Live or work in New York City (Manhattan, Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island).
  • Used opioids, such as heroin, nonprescription opioids, or fentanyl, for nonprescription purposes (e.g., to get high) in the past 90 days.
This is a university research study. We have no affiliation with law enforcement. The survey is administered through a secured and encrypted program, and all collected data will be password protected. We will not collect any identifying information in the survey. We will not ask your name or your address. We will only collect your email address to send you the gift card. Your email address will be stored separately from your answers, and we will delete your email after we send you the gift card. This study was reviewed and approved by UPenn IRB.

To participate, you can start the survey here.

If you have any questions or concerns, you are welcome to contact our research team at [email protected], or reach out to Dr. Nesoff’s personal email: [email protected].

Thank you!
