Hello all
My name is Fiona - I work with a production company called IWC Media in Scotland specialising in intelligent and thoughtful documentaries. Programmes we have made include Terry Pratchett: Living with Alzheimer’s and The Secret Life of a Manic Depressive with Stephen Fry, as well as blue chip science programmes such as Brave New World and Stephen Hawking – Master of the Universe.
I am currently doing some background research into recreational drug taking amongst older people (50+), for a potential Channel 4 documentary. I would very much like to speak to drug users in this age group - people who are highly functioning members of society who also form a very hidden part of society in which they manage their non dependent drug use alongside careers, families and other responsibilities.
The documentary will be non judgemental in tone and I would like to stress I am at the research stage at the moment - there is absolutely no filming involved at this point or indeed at any point without having someone’s full permission to film them. Confidentiality is also something I take very seriously and we are not a company who make voyeuristic programmes.
I’ve already spoken with a number of people who have been kind enough to be open about their drug use and looking to talk to more people in the next couple of weeks. Please either private message me here or email [email protected]
