Wesley Landers revived, now facing several charges

CINCINNATI —Cincinnati police are investigating a drug overdose case at Cincinnati Children's Hospital that left a woman dead and a man in the hospital and under arrest.

CPD said that at around 11:30 a.m., the man and woman were found in the hospital unresponsive.

According to the criminal complaint, the man, Wesley Landers, 31, was found on the floor of his 7-month-old child's hospital bathroom with a heroin syringe in his arm. There were two other heroin syringes on the bathroom sink counter, the complaint states.

Landers was revived and taken to UC Medical Center for treatment, police said.

Landers also had a handgun in his pants pocket at the time, the complaint states.

The 32-year-old woman was pronounced dead a short time later, police said. Her name has not been released.

Police have not said if she is the child's mother.

Landers faces several charges including drug possession and having weapons under disability.

Sorry the woman passed. How could this have been different if heroin and other drugs were legal? They would have been useing a drug of known concentration and purity greatly reducing the risk of OD. If they were required to obtain a license to use, a prerequisite class covering OD and narcon would have prepared them to deal with the OD. By removing the black market the violence will also be removed, so there likely would have been no gun. Taxes on the drugs could fund execelent treatment to those who want or are in need.
