Tussionex question

I have a bottle of generic Tussionex susp but it seems someone has gotten into it and replaced some of the syrup with water! I am sick and actually NEED it at the moment. I am not sure how diluted it is, but it is diluted enough to be runny. My question is, is this safe to take and has the medicine in it been broken down or compromised in any way? Thanks.
 
It would be hard to say now how much to take if it's been diluted. Is it a fairly new bottle?
If not, I would buy more if you can. (Anonymous ------ BDD)
