Trouble recognizing / differentiating people on MDMA?

Wondering if anyone else has had any similar issues.

The first time I rolled I was at the come down and started talking to these 3 people I thought were the friends I came with but 4 awkward seconds of my confusion later realized they were strangers

Another time when I rolled I was looking for my friend while with my other friend who wasn't rolling and she kept bringing all these random people to me asking if it was the guy we were looking for and it tripped me out and I realized I could've known anyone there and I wouldn't recognize them because it felt like everyone looked like the same person (not physically but I felt at the time that they were)

Sorry really lengthy but anyone else have weird trippy confusions with people you know / strangers while rolling?
 
Yeah I have that as well sometimes, usually when coming down from a pretty high dose. Confusion is quite common after a heavy roll. We even have a word for that in my language, which roughly translates to "lost" in English. It get's worse by smoking weed. For me it get's so bad sometimes that I can't understand what people are saying to me anymore, it's like I hear the sounds coming out of their mouth but my brain doesn't process them into words I can understand anymore so I just hear sounds that don't seem to mean anything, while they're actually making perfect sense. I actually kind of like this feeling, for a moment I think I can feel what it's like to be really really dumb :D
 
Weird, ya this must be a common thing, because my good friend has this problem, every time we encounter different people i know, he thinks they're always the same person, he cant differentiate the differences, he also said i look different to him aswell haha
 
I think this is fairly common ? I know that I have sat talking to randoms thinking I 'knew' them - also shared pleasantries with best mates, did you have a good night / what you on :D (shared this before on here) I was with my mate clubbing - she needed the loo so off we went. I sat on the stairs waiting for her when my phone went - It was a mate, so (when waiting for Friend A to come out of the loo) I sat chatting to Friend B. We were both high so the conversation was really random and went on for ages until I realized A + B were the same person.

My mate was on the loo, fancied a chat - called me and then we both forgot we were out with each other and had a chat on the phone 8(

Hahaha that is classic! I usually just have trouble with faces. Everyone just looks the same or i think im standing near friends only to realise later im completely lost lol.
Or i will be following my friend to the bar or toilet or whatever and halfway start following someone else thinking it's them. Usually only happens at indoor parties though.
 
I have experienced this on large doses of amphetamine also.
I'll think people resemble other people that I know, or I'll mistake one face for another - or the ability to recognise someone I've been introduced to just won't stick in my memory. In worst-case scenarios, I've actually had to take note of another element of person's appearance (such as the clothes, hairstyle, other physical attributes) in instances where I am socialising with people (or a person) I've just met - especially if it is a friend of someone I am hanging out with - or two people that I realise I am confusing for one another, in a group. It's certainly weird and off-putting at times, and environments with a lot of sensory stimuli (loud parties or clubs, darkness or artificial lighting - and crowds of people) contribute to this confusion.
 
Yeah it's a pretty textbook thing with MDMA. I've gone up to people about to start a conversation thinking there my friends, before realizing they're not at the last minute. Also had people start talking to me thinking I was their friend.

exactly. but it doesn't only happen with faces. you follow your friend with a green shirt around a corner and as soon as you turn around said corner, there's no one with a green shirt in sight :)

Yeah I've had experiences like that as well. Also when I'm rolling hard it's difficult for me to understand what someone is saying/am hearing something different. A friend of mine once called me asking me where I'm at and I understood "Are you high again?" and I was like "I'm not high for christ's sake" xD. I also once bumped into a girl thinking it was an old friend of mine and just started talking to her and it took me like a day to figure out I didn't know her AT ALL... still got laid though =D
I also get pseudo hallucinations on MD (it's not always equally intense) like people's shapes will change a little or they start lookin real different depending on the lights I also sometimes see like interactions between people going on that don't happen especially when I'm further away. It's hard to describe it with words I don't know if people know what I'm talking about... Worst thing like others mentioned is following your friend then following someone else cause you thought it was your friend xD
 
lmao. Sometimes people seem dream like or cartoon, but all similar. So yea, i get confused sometimes. hahahaha.
 
Yup confusion gets you especially at the tail end of a doozy roll. Very confusing to unknowing friends to get that 1000 foot stare.

One time on two tabs of potent (supposed) L I had a good friend knock on my door, I opened the door and just stared at him not comprehending what I saw. But I also had an orgasm while sweeping the floor, because I sudddenly felt every bristle gliding across the tiles, through my entire being in an indescribable way. It was rediculously amazing for such an inane task. I did however shortly thereafter contemplate suicide, before getting my self reigned in mentally.... any whooo. back on track.

hahaha yes this reminds me of a time I was fucked in a rave, I saw a friend from a long time ago. I said hello then for some reason thought it wasn't actually him and said sorry and went to walk away but it was him the whole time!
Some of my friends have seen other peoples faces on mine, particularly in the dark. I think it's to do with association of faces changing when on MDMA. It can be quite scary for a second when you see someone else haha.
 
Haha bearlove the taxi driver part got me. They probably think I'm a nut job every time.
