Yeah, I agree. I avoided Birdman for a long time after it came out.. because it looks too pretentious, but when I actually gave it a shot and watched it I loved it.

glad i waited to see this on the big screen. movie is magical again. 90% of that film's photography was IMPOSSIBLEZ! the story had more depth than i expected too. 5/5 easily best film of the year

i loved birdman and will be at a screening this saturday with the jazz score being played live over it. :D

There was nothing more hard to swallow than Scorsese getting his for The Departed.
I liked the movie but it was in no means his best, imo at the bottom of his roster.
Scorsese+Nicholson+DiCaprio should have been so much better than the very dated The Departed.
If it was Good Fellas+The Shining+The Aviator it would have been my all-time fav.

But than again I feel that The Revenant is a very great movie, superior to most in every facet, and very up my alley so I hope he does get it.

I'm not saying he doesn't deserve it. He's proven to be arguably one of the best actors of all time, certainly of this generation.

Oscars, Grammys, Emmys --- they don't mean shit. He's a great actor regardless of accolades.

He hasn't gotten one for this long, fuck it. Keep it going.

My favorite is Catch Me if You Can.. and I've always felt that Blood Diamond is extremely underrated
