The vile sound
retching in the corner stall
of a 24/7
a heaving split in recognition
doubled over
the grotesque bowl
A koala bear nips my nose
as I seize at the mousetrap table
putrid brains scrapped off tile
and I shake out the sweats
Was it the chalkboard dust
That became my eraser
like a slap to the face
leaves a powdery imprint
Could that have been the fate
that would exploit the ulcers
that are rotting away
my nose and throat
To protest the impulse
would be a bitter scene
like a melting pill
washed down with grit
instead it drips
onto my voice
I spoke too fast
I spoke too late
