So I have these sassafras trees. I really like the tea from the roots, but have recently been informed that it might be a carcinogen. I also need to cut down a few b/c they always want to grow in the most annoying places. Are there any uses for the tree (leaves, bark) or should I just burn them?

You know good and well what sassafras potentially can be used to make.

Well we can't get into any of the drug-related uses of the tree since that would lead to synthesis discussion which is not allowed, which is why this thread was closed. What you have is not the same thing as the synthesized version of it that you will read about, so don't confuse the two.

You can do a google search or do the 'google bluelight' search on the top left of the site to read up on it, but it doesn't seem like something that is safe enough to mess with if you don't really know what you are doing. There are some non drug-related uses of the tree which you will also come across when searching google for it.
