This game is just like the word association game except each round has a win/lose element. You can either ignore the competitive element if your DOC is weed or opiates or you can let it dominate your life if you are an active tweaker.

Each round has four steps. The fourth step is also the start of the next round. Like this...

1. Player 1 posts a word. For example “Red”

2. Player 2 posts a word in response to Player 1 with prefix (a). For example: (a) Rose

3. Player 3 posts an alternative word in response to Player 1 again with prefix (b) For example: (b) Marxism

4. Player 4 decides whether to go with (a) or (b) as his/her inspiration the next association and indicates which way he/she has gone. For example if he/she thinks Red leads to Marxism they would post: (b) Imbecility. “Imbecility” then forms the inspiration for the next two players to post their associations. If you are keeping score then Player 2 is the loser in this example and Player 3 is the winner. In this step Player 2 and Player 3 from the current round must abstain. Player 1 can play though.

We will use (a) and (b) to keep track of responses in each round because I know several players of the original game were not able to count to 1.

Competitive players are expected to obsessively attempt to steer the chain of associations in their preferred direction. Non-competitive players are expected to passive aggressively keep pushing things the other way out of spite. However, it may play out differently in practice!!

and whom would be #4
can't #4 have at least have a (*) next to it like

a * or b * to mark play #4

instead of a b a b a b discrepancies ?

QUICK RULE AMENDMENT.

To make it easier to see where we are at. Please QUOTE the word (a) or (b) you go with when you start a new round as @madness00 did above. Good move dude.
