I have a question about EMD, do you know where it originated from? I heard someone once say a place, but I am not sure.
 
I would say "Jam On It" by Newcleus and also Run DMC & The Sugarhill Gang for breakbeats. House music started at the Warehouse in Chicago. Kraftwerk is some of the earliest European techno.

Youtubing all that should give you some idea.
