UPDATE: Stephen has filmed an excerpt from someone who volunteered from Bluelight and has what he needs for the documentary. Thanks to that person, and everyone who expressed interest. We will return with details about the documentary once it is released later this year!

Hi everyone

We've been approached by a documentary maker, Stephen Bennett, who is currently making a documentary about Viagra.

One aspect of the Viagra story that they are keen to cover is its co-use with MDMA, as a way of maintain erections, given the opposite effect that MDMA can have for the male erection. Stephen stumbled across one of our threads in this subforum on this very topic.

Stephen and his team are seeking people who are willing to talk about their experiences with MDMA and Viagra. They have filming teams in the US, UK and Europe. Given the nature of the topic, they are happy to either just interview people via audio, or to do so via camera but with anonymisation, or to fully film people.

Bluelight admin have determined the request is from a legitimate documentary maker, and have decided to support their request. However if you do decide to be involved, this should be your individual decision - considering any risks alongside the benefits of telling your story and contributing to this work. I believe this team will be very accommodating of any concerns you may have - all the same, it's an individual decision.

[Edited to remove contact details from public view as recruitment is closed]

All the details direct from Stephen are below:

My name is Stephen Bennett, and I am a documentary director. I am making a 90-minute feature documentary for BBC Storyville to mark the 25th anniversary of the launch of Viagra in 1998. As you might not be familiar with the Storyville brand, here is a link to some of their programmes. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b006mfx6. It is BBC’s premier international documentary strand commissioning many award-winning films such as Werner Herzog’s The Fire Within, Navalny, OJ Simpson: Made in America etc.

We are filming in UK, USA and France with many of the leading scientists, marketing and salespeople and cultural commentators. Alongside this we are talking to younger, present day users who discuss their performance anxiety and use, the female perspective and much more.

We are coming over to NY and California at the beginning of March for a whistle stop tour of filming, then back in the UK for more. The documentary will air in Autumn. We also have a French Producer and the film will be shown in other countries such as Germany, Switzerland. We are hoping for a US broadcaster too.

One key side we are missing is Pilly Willy (when Viagra first launched people called it Sextasy). We are looking for some folk to discuss on camera their pilly willy but with the frankness of your forum.

We are looking for someone or a group to go on camera and discuss this. ideally we would see their face(s) but it might be this is impossible if we are to get an unvarnished insight into this world, and their real concerns. If so, I have some ideas how we could film it, whether using lucho libra masks (Mexican wrestlers), or using macro lenses where we don't ever see the full person?

Just to explain, along with scientists and those who brought it to market, we are filming people such as millennials in UK who use viagra to help with performance anxiety with partners. We are seeing their faces.

Crucially there is no tonal judgement in this sequence or indeed the film as a whole. Pilly Willy, Sextasy, Whisky Dick - all these terms help convey a real sense of anguish (such as in your post) but also a real world use. It is this our film is hoping to convey.
