Tapering off of benzos (diazepam)

Hi guys , been abusing Valium on and off for about 6 months cause I was trying to quit IV opiates . I got addicted basically and taking 10-30 mgs a day usually , rarely up to 50 mgs a day . So I decided I really need to taper and quit because I need the benzos for the opiate withdrawal , cause now they don't do the same magic they did before . I went immediately from taking minimum 10 mgs a day to 5 mgs every other day and now I'm at 1-2.5 mgs a day of Valium a day for like 5 days . Any idea what I can do or where I'm at I'm not smart with benzos in terms of withdrawals and dependency . If I feel fine from 1-2 mgs dose in the morning keeping me at bay from withdrawals for 24-36 hours should I just stop completely ?

Thanks, quick update , took 2.5 mgs one day next day didn't take any and day after that took 2.5 mgs again and now we're here today trying to not take it
