Synthetic Cannabinoid deaths: any info?

I'm curious if anything is known regarding the deaths on these RCs.

Namely, are they drug overdoses (due to effects on the brain) or more along the lines of poisonings due to toxicity?

I haven't seen any reliable data yet, doesn't help that nobody really knows what blend is in the commercial stuff and the recipes keep changing :S

The LD50 for THC in rats is 1,270 mg/kg.


The study below suggest that the LD50 for JWH-018 is somewhere below 5 mg/kg.
