I am a chronic pain sufferer. I am currently on MSContin 75mg 3x a day and percocet10/325 for break through pain with right now I don't have any percocets as I'm waiting for the referral to the clinic. My Dr wants me to go to a suboxone clinic as I have a high tolerance to opiates/opioids and does not want me to become addicted. She stated that suboxone/subutex will work well for me but I am scared. We tried methadone and I had a severe reaction to it. For those who are on i or have been on it can you tell me your experience? How long will/can a person generally be on them for chronic pain? My fear is having another reaction like I did with methadone and what will the next step be if this does happen or if it does not help me? I personally don't like narcotics and fear addiction. My chronic pain is undiagnosed (fibromyalgia ruled out) after seeing over 8 specialists in different fields and countless blood and many xray/CT/MRI testing. I'm at my wits end and hoping that maybe someone on here is going through the same thing and can give me some insight. Thank you.
