Has anyone read/heard anything about the bioavailability of subcutaneous buprenorphine? It looks like oral is 10%, sublingual is %30, and nasal is 48%.
I've had Sublocade injected three times now. Each time was 300mg. The Dr. at the treatment center I was at who injected me said it's equal to about 16-24 mg a day of Suboxone/Subutex. I don't see how this is possible or can't see where she is getting that information from. I haven't seen it anywhere in the sublocade folder or drug information pack.
I figured 300mg every 30 days...roughly 10mg/day...unless the bioavailability subcutaneously is greater.
I've read one research paper tonight from a ncbi.com test that said bioavailability is greater subcutaneous, but other than that nothing on bupeprenorphine subcutaneous. I've been on buprenorphine for 11 years and would disagree with her assessment of 16-24 a day...it seems more like 8mg sublingual suboxone to me.
