I was probably in one of the last age groups to have these as a kid: Tasted chalky. And the texture fit. Didn’t like them much.

They may have been branded as something other than candy cigarettes actually. Don’t remember the 90s in that great a detail. Tubes of pure food dye sweet candy goo were big then too. Haven’t seen those for years.
