Does somebody know if Curcumin and it's metabolites are stored in fatty tissues (especially the brain) and have some longer lasting effects there? A lot of very lipophilic substances are stored for a long time, I'd be curious about curcumin.
On the web I found nothing about it.
Some of the metabolites are still highly effective antioxidants, therefore I ask.

I'd be willing to bet that it was stored in fat. I know that carotenes are (another lipophilic pigment), so much so that fat deposits will turn orange in animals fed diets rich in B-carotene.

Even though curcumin is apparently "extensively metabolized and rapidly excreted", some portion would be expected to remain in fats.

Ok already thought that, would be happy if someone finds a paper about that :)
