This is a question for all of you Heroin/crack users.
Since starting to use Heroin do you still use other more recreational drugs? I used all of the party drugs, MDMA, 2-CB, LSD, powder cocaine etc. Now that Im a full time Heroin / Crack user I no longer use any of the others. ( I no longer smoke pot as it makes me a paranoid wreck) . Im aware that at times its a matter of cost if I only have enough money to by gear and stay well Im not going to spend it on a bag of MDMA but even when I have cash I have no desirer to take any other drugs. Im not sure if its down to getting older and tastes changing or a result of my addiction.

Well during my heroin and crack use, my use of psychedelics and empathogens dropped for a number of reasons. But once I stopped it was these drugs and dance culture that’s helped keep me from going back.

I need a carrot on a stick, something to get me through all those long days at work. These days that’s the next festival or special event, even if a couple months or more away.

These drugs also help me maintain healthy habits to keep away from heroin and crack. Diet, exercise, you know..

When I first started using heroin I largely lost the desire for other drugs but that only lasted a few years, after using heroin daily for a few years it became boring and I once again became interested in other drugs. I am the type of person who can never be addicted to the same drug for that long without getting bored of it. I am amazed when I read about people having 20 or 30 year addictions to the same drug. I'm like, "you were addicted to X drug that long and you never got to the point where you were like screw this I'm switching to Y or just quitting drugs altogether?" For me with pretty much any drug the high becomes less enjoyable over time and the side effects become more cumbersome.

Im totally board of the gear but if I don't do it I get sick.

That wont happen if you get subs or kratom and taper off.
I have just started a meth script today. I have a dual Heroin/crack addiction so a lot of it is in the head but we shall see how it goes. It must be one of the most unfulfilling addictions out there!
with regard to Kratom I got no benefit at all from it. In what amounts where you doing it in relation to the amount of Heroin you where using?

First 3 days on kratom were fairly rough coming off a big heroin habit but still better than nothing which for me was unbearable. I had to take a lot of kratom, don't remember exactly how much, and mostly stay in bed. By day four I was getting major relief from the kratom and was able to resume normal life.

I found it did nothing for me, I had a gram a day habit at the time so i would guess the amounts of Kratom needed where not practical

I’m still on buprenorphine to this day but it saved my life, and honestly I feel it keeps my cravings for other drugs down a bit too. I take .75mg.

Heroin is a beast but over time you’ll realize how much better life is without it. Crack though is weird where it’ll seem easy at first but that lingering thought of “maybe just one more” never really fully goes away. I barely smoked the shit compared to my friends and still think about getting some sometimes.

Glad to hear you got on methadone :) Get stable on it for a month then roll or trip and you may just never want to go back.

I dont smoke crack these days, I mix it with the gear to feel something off a hit. Like I said pointless. Started script today. I ended up using on top but only a £10 bag of gear which is nothing compared to usual. Aiming for nothing tomorrow!

Grtting off dope is about not letting the set backs get you down. I relapsed a week after I quit, then two weeks after that, but each one further apart and filled with more and more guilt each time. Eventually one day i realized it’d been a year since I’d used.

Maintenance drugs help a lot and better than using, much easier to taper.
