is a negative reaction with simon's specifically no colour change at all, or does anything other than the classic royal blue colour count?

Mda can sometimes go a salmon colour. But blue means that there is a second amine.

thanks man. this one did nothing at first, then slowly started to get grey streaks that turned black over about a minute. after three mins it turned a dark blue colour, nothing like the brilliant blue it turns when positive, and all the liquid was evapourated.
