.. He just retired and he was on the morphine. 
Never got any automatic lectures on my drug use if I came into the surgery with needle marks.
Once or twice when I hit a tight spot he even prescribed me morphine for some made - up shit.
(Sure that's unethical and unprofessional, but SHIT I appreciated it at the time.)
