Ok i have this plant growing in my yard, i think it may be salvia. It looks just like it and smells like it, but it doesnt have square stems like its supposed to. Theyre not circular either, they are kind of like octagonal. Im gonna try it tonite and just want to know if you guys think its real or not. Heres a pic. Its kinda small here, its grown a lot since.

if you just found a random plant in your yard and it doesnt even fit the description of salvia (ei, not having square stems) why you assume it would be salvia? to my knowledge salvia doesnt grow in the wild.

Well, Salvia Divinorum definitely has square stems. There are literally hundreds of strains of Salvia (Sage) plant. But this does not sound like the "Diviner's Mint". There's a picture - albeit not brilliant - here:

Couldn't resist this - found when looking for a picture:

www.medicinenet.com: Learn about salvia (salvia divinorum), a common herb that is now being used by individuals to get high. Salvia effects include hallucinations, delusions, and psychosis.

So that's why I love this plant =D
