Ah, i worked how to post:),

Has anyone else got kinda sad from methylphenidate? i have ritalin for add and took 20mg daily for a few months but hated the sort of mood it put me in.
I have tried it at high doses but with the buzz there is almost always sadness when i take it, i just start thinking about depressing
existential shit.
Is this normal, its a stimulant so im confused as to why does that.

I think that's a common feeling. The one where you're productive and sharp, but also disinterested, anti-social and depressed. When I used to take Ritalin it kicked my ass. I felt like a robot most of the time, with little creativity or enthusiasm for anything. Friends of mine who are diagnosed with ADHD take Ritalin for a couple of months when they need to, and then come off it for a while.

If you're having trouble with prolonged use try speaking to your doctor about IR (immediate release)tablets (if you're not already taking them) as opposed to XR (extended release), so you can just pop one when you need it. Though it's much easier to abuse Ritalin this way, so I'd be cautious.
