Ok,
So I've been having stomach aches daily for a couple months, but they are rarely severe, they just cause me a lot of problems in the bathroom and unusual aches throughout different parts of my stomach and diaharea...problems I wish would go away...but they aren't life threatening.
I already knew that it was caused by drinking a lot of alcohol, taking Alieve the day after for head aches which is bad on the stomach, and being the retarded caffeine addict I am, drinking about 4-6 cups of coffee a day.
I saw my doctor and got a blood test.
He said my liver enzymes are just one point above the normal range...which to a doctor means "abnormal" but which to a drinker I think probably means "just slightly bad, I'm not going to die so there's nothing to worry about" LOL.
His nurse was the one who told me the numbers on the phone, she sounded unconcerned and said "if you just stop drinking for a while the numbers will go down, they are higher than they should be but they are not that high, certainly in no way life threatening or indicative of liver disease".
So that to me means "I don't actually have liver problems...I just drink too much".
But my doctor said he thought I had gastritis, especially from taking Alieve the day after drinking and prescribed my Prilosec and told me to see a endocrinologist/stomach specialist.
My doctor told me not to drink for a few weeks while on the Prilosec, and I've been on it for 12 days and only drank twice....one night I had one glass of wine and felt fine the next day...the other time I had two glasses and felt pretty bad the next day so I haven't drank since and will not be drinking or taking Alieve till I finish my prilosec prescription in 2 1/2 weeks.
The "weird stomach pains" that I'd never had prior to about 2 months ago have now gone away on the prilosec...but I still get daily diaherrea and nausea every morning...which I've been getting on and off for YEARS because of the ridiculous amount of coffee I drink.
I think it is time to switch to tea...or half and half...to reduce stomach issues.
Long story short: I saw the endocrinologist and he told me not to drink for a month and to drink less coffee but didn't think it was worth taking an endocscopy, he just said "you are poisoning your body so stop and it will get better".
However....my yearly 2 week vacation is coming up....coincidentally....in two weeks around the time I finish up my prilosec prescritpion....and every year on my vacation I drink a lot and smoke a lot of weed...and of course I want to do it again this year.
I was honest with my primary doctor that I thought I'd do this and he said (knowing my addictive personality) "well, if you don't drink on the prilosec for a few weeks the stomach aches will probably go away but that doesn't mean they won't come back if you start drinking again aftewards, which you probably will...."
My question is: AFTER I have finished my prilosec prescription in two weeks, and not Drank AT ALL or taken ANY alieve during this period and maybe cut down on my coffee...if my stomach is feeling somewhat better but not perfect.....what are the dangers of getting shitfaced drunk maybe...say....5 or 6 times over a 2 week period and occassionally taking 2 alieves to deal with the headache....then abruptly stopping the alcohol altogether afterwards for a few months and getting on a strict diet?
This is my plan...and we are all addicts so we know the deal: I am obviously trying to get away with whatever I can.
My idea is obviously to: 1) make the stomach problems a little better by listening to my doctor for 2 more weeks then.....2) NOT listening to him for 2 weeks hoping that I can get away with 4-6 nights of heavy drinking, then 3) stopping altogether just in time to "have my cake...and eat it too" and prevent any long term serious stomach damage.
I figure that the endocronolgist would have asked for an endoscopy if he suspected SERIOUS issues, my blood work only shows slightly elevated liver enzymes but my liver isn't the issue:
If I go through with this plan....do you guys think it's likely I could cause myself SERIOUS long lasting intestinal problems, like really bad bleeding ulcers, stomach bleeding...or even worse shit??
What if I try to listen to my body and plan on having a few nights on and off throughout my vacation where I get drunk.....but then stop if I am experiencing really serious stomach pains??
Would the damage already be done?
There was in fact, one time about 3 years ago when I went on a worse drinking binging than I plan on going on this time, and it led to one day where i had REALLY severe burning stomach pains all day which only went away after drinking lots of milk and water for about 3 hours...but eventually they totally went away...but if I HADN'T done that...I can only imagine what would have happend...I was told to do that by a nurse...
I don't want to have to be completely sober for my only 2 week vacation that I get yearly....then just have to go back to work without getting to have had any fucking fun at all...but I'm not going to permanently destroy my stomach, intestines and other organs so that I can have 5 or 6 nights of drinking.
Any replies would be appreciated.
