RIP Raphael Mechoulam

Just noticed on Wikipedia that Raphael Mechoulam, discoverer of d9-THC and anandamide, passed away in March of this year.

I don't think he ever posted on BL but he was certainly responsible for a lot of the foundational cannabinoid research we rely on today.

Was he a researcher at Tel Aviv University (I honestly dont know how many there are in Israel)?

I've stumbled upon his Wikipedia page a handful of times now in the course of hyperlink clicking.

On a side, note isn't Wikipedia great I've liked encyclopedia's (physical) in general since I was a little kid (because in a sense, everything is interesting to some degree), so naturally Wikipedia is a whole different level given the speed at which one can explore information (as well as the learning trajectories ones curiosity can lead them on). Simultaneously it is an unstructured rabbit hole where one never learns much.

In any event, thats how I know the name Raphael Mechoulam (RIP)
