Hey, everyone!

SWIM needs your advice on something.

Last weekend SWIM went to a sex party. And to stay awake SWIM decided to take 150 mg Modafinil instead of MDMA. The reason was that SWIM had taken MDMA two times the same month, so SWIM wanted his serotonin receptors to get some rest and give his storages time to fill up.

During the party SWIM still wanted to have fun, so SWIM took two mid-size doses of Phernol (GHB/GLB) with an inverval of about an hour. Later that night SWIM also took about half a tablet of Viagra.

SWIM had a lot of fun, but didn't really feel much effect from the Phernol.

During the night SWIM drank quite a lot of water.

SWIM went to sleep at about 8:00 am and slept for 4-5 hours. When SWIM woke up he had a really bad headache that lasted the whole day. SWIM tried to stay in bed, drink a lot of water and wait it out.

Now this is where it gets weird... for about four days after the party, SWIM had this weird pressure/tingling in his head, it didn't hurt but it almost felt like his scalp had been injected with a mild anesthetic. (It was similar to the buzzing/tingling you get when taking MDMA)

During those four days, SWIM had a hard time focusing on single tasks and his mind got quite bad at processing abstract ideas and make rapid connections. This resulted in a lot of weird situations where a friend said something or made a joke, and he didn't understand what they meant.

Another thing SWIM noticed was that his eyes had a hard time scanning and reading text. He couldn't read as quickly as he normally did, and SWIM started fumbling over words and had to re-read them.

During all these days, SWIM was scared like shit and was constantly paranoid he had fucked his brain up.

Luckily things got better after the fourth day, and now SWIM is at his seventh day.

SWIMs focus and energy has gotten better, and the tingling in his brain has decreased a lot, but he still feels a mild version of it now and then. Especially when he's tired after working on his computer.

Things have not gone fully back to normal and there are some things SWIM still notice:

  1. Can't find words as easily as he normally does (SWIM often remember a similar word, then he has a hard time finding the specific one he's looking for)
  2. Can't make connections in his brain as quickly as he used to. For example when answering the question "Random question: What letter looks like the number 5" when registering for this forum, SWIM had to do a good 5-6 second think before it dawned on him. This would have gone a lot quicker before.
  3. SWIM is not as aware of his surroundings as he normally is. He can walk into a room and not see something standing in his peripheral vision or maybe something falls on the floor without him noticing it

These might seem like small things, but normally SWIM is a very sharp guy and this sudden change is really making him upset.

I'm wondering if someone might know what he's experiencing? Is there a way to speed up his recovery or could this be permanent?

I'm really curious what is causing this, is it one of the single substances or can it be a the mix?

I'm also wondering if SWIMS brain has been a bit exhausted from the MDMA he's been taking the last month, and maybe that is playing a part?

Any thoughts or experiences are really appreciated!

TL;DR: SWIM took 150mg Modafinil + two mid-size doses of Phernol (GBL/GHB) + half a tablet of Viagra. Went to a sex party and stayed up all night. Felt really bad for four days and now after seven days he's having hard times finding words, he feels slow and he's not feeling very aware of his surroundings. I need help figuring out what this is and what SWIM can do about it.

Hi,

First, there's really no need to use 'SWIM' in Bluelight - it won't protect you and isn't as pleasant to read...

From my experience, you need to give this time. This means not doing any drugs at all for as long as you feel necessary.

There probably isn't a whole lot you can do to speed the recovery process up. I'm a little familiar with the drugs you mention but haven't encountered a story like yours before, and also I don't know viagra and its effect too well.

The important thing to keep in mind is that each person is different and will have different limits and tolerances to drug use. Your body probably needs a big rest and this is what I would focus on. I have, following heavy psychedelic use, also had after effects that lasted for many months before going away - I hope that it is not the case for you, but you should be mentally ready for that to potentially be the case.

I wish you a speedy recovery.
