Ian Curtis certainly had a singular voice. Sounds good in the upper register and dreadful otherwise. Still like the songs.

Shaun Ryder actually hits most notes and was also a fucking fantastic lyricist.

Peter Green was actually called Peter Greenbaum. Jews evidently don't rock.

I remember the first time I heard 'Unknown Pleasures'. A load of us went to see Clint Eastwood and General Saint in Leeds, but the bass blew the fuckin PA system so the gig was cancelled. We got back to the student digs we were staying at and carried on doing lines of sulphate. Eventually there was just two of us left bashing the billy. My mate said "have you heard this album?" I said "no".

By the time the sun came up, I'd heard it about 20 times...
