quitting masturbation is harder than drugs

Edging produces more "impressive" results I guess but doing it too long is quite underwhelming ime. The actual release doesn't feel as intense.
Yep. I have to admit the novelty is wearing off for me. And the tendonitis it produced in my shoulder makes it a pain if it goes on very long.

Orgasms happen in the brain. You can do stuff with the body and it's cool but there's no scientific basis to the idea that stimulating the genitals or anywhere else directly causes a buildup of prolactin in synaptic vesicles. Every signal coming from the body is heavily processed and translated.

The best guess I can come up with, which has almost always been supported by my experience, is that it's really the intensity and duration of arousal, not stimulation per se, that leads to a stronger orgasm. Therefore, if you take up edging, or anything else, because you think it will get you off, but you don't actually find it sexy, you will probably get bored and find it doesn't work as well after a while.

I briefly dated someone who liked to do orgasm denial, but disguised it as edging. I was not into it so that relationship didn't last long.

It also tainted my view of edging in general but I've learned that there is a difference between edging and orgasm denial.

I’ve never heard of orgasm denial. Save me the trouble of googling it...?

It's generally done in a dom/sub relationship where it's understood by both parties that the dom has control over the sub's orgasm, including if it even happens or not.

The biggest difference between orgasm denial and edging is that the end goal with edging is to eventually cum, whereas that's not necessarily true with orgasm denial.

Honestly it's a quick release for me. I was with a friend in a seedy motel one time, watching porn and shot a load on a tissue. He was impressed. That's all it is for me. One shot, I'm done ;)
