Questions on benzo and seizures....

Pretty simple question(well 2). I've always been an opiate cookie monster(300mg oxy+)daily but never on benzo's ever. I've tried them like 3 times in my life. So recently bought some Xanax XR 1mg. I have zero tolerance so these put me on my ass. I take one like 7pm and then one like 2am and I fall asleep totally fucked by 7am.(Also take Kratom with). So my question is cause my knowledge on benzo's is zero, when you take a Xanax XR is it a constant 1mg you are receiving during the duration(8-12hrs) or is it 1mg total distributed over 12 hours so at any given time you have like .25 in you. That and my last question is can I take 8mg of Xanax xr over 4 days and then just be done with it without risking seizure? I ask because my cousin who also doesn't do benzos went on a week binge and then just quit cold and seized the fuck out(although I have no idea the doses he was taking only the duration).
