Quebec is not going to allow home cultivation of Cannabis (for the stupidest reasons)

According to Minister Lucie Charlebois (Rehabilitation, Youth Protection and Public Health) -

"Quebec’s Minister for Rehabilitation, Youth Protection and Public Health, Lucie Charlebois, says that she thinks allowing homegrown cannabis will mean people will be stoned all day, every day, that kids will eat cannabis plants, and that she has been told there is fentanyl in black market cannabis......If my grandchildren go to my neighbour's house and inadvertently get into the marijuana plants and eat them, that's not good. It is not good that it is near homes where there are children. Moreover, I was told during public consultations that with four good cannabis plants, for two people at home, you can be stoned 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. And do you know what? You’ll still have some left"

Hands up if anyone here has just decided to randomly start eating plants?

It's also not good if I try to pay my house mortgage with trim leaves or run my car on hash oil.

Was the good minister dropped on her head repeatedly?

Tom

Wow that's really disappointing. Though it's definitely a boon for Ontario/Quebec black markets so it's kind of bittersweet. I'm sure it will be straightened out eventually though

I hope she is an elected official. Next term she could try unemployment.

How do people with no education on a subject feel they have an authorative opinion?

If your grandchildren come over and start randomly eating my plants, lady, inadvertently or not, I'm suing!=D

The thing I don't get is that people who are growing at home use a separate grow room or a grow tent. If kids go over to someone's house, they should not be going into rooms with closed doors. I'm not even going to bother putting a lock on my grow room as I'll be using a basement bedroom, and if I have guests over, it's upstairs. And if you are using a grow tent, a simple padlock would solve any potential issues.

So the only remaining issue is that the little monsters would get into Cannabis that you've already harvested. That also should not be a problem because most people wouldn't leave a bag or jar of weed on the coffee table if the neighbor's kids were over; they'd hide it away. Me, I keep my weed in a coffee table and most times I'll have a grinder full on top of the table along with a lighter, pipe and sometimes papers. But I only have adults over at my house.

Salutations Thomas Davie,

Hands up if anyone here has just decided to randomly start eating plants?

Years ago i considered "juicing" raw cannabis but then i found that can be tough on internal filtering organs, apparently. Possibly because of calcium, as i vaguely recall...

In any case i suppose this is refering to this funny article below:

Was the good minister dropped on her head repeatedly?

It turns out i may have a clue but i needs to be verified:

Lucie_Charlebois_-_Les_Coulisses_du_Pouvoir_SRC_2017-_Nov-19.png

Pay close attention to her nose as seen (above) earlier in another interview broadcasted during that very same day on that very same channel, then below:

Lucie_Charlebois_-_TLMEP_SRC_2017-_Nov-19_480x270.png

Still wearing the very same jewell...

So, anyone noticed all her obvious signs of redness had somehow conveniently disapeared later that day??

M'well, now here's a hint what my favourite hypothesis on Lucie "Nez-Rouge" Charlebois may happen to boil down to:

Lucie_Charlebois_-_Drink_to_that_-_TLMEP_SRC_2017-_Nov-19_56.png

It's little more than a simple intuition but i've been browsing through multiple pictures of her recently and it seems she's displaying a red nose during practically all seasons, which would explain the heavy cosmetics shining so much at TLMEP... Or maybe it was just too difficult to extract a photograph suitable for publication, hence here are 2 videos to allow the readers to reach their own conclusions separately, hoping that shall help us remember these crucial moments in our own good time or a remote future:

funny you mention this since I’m from Montreal and these statements repeatedly made are starting to get ridiculous. I don’t recall ever wandering around someone’s backyard hand-picking plants to eat. I hope they someday decide to have a scientifically-backed, adult discussion on the whole cannabis thing. It’s important to know that their primary goal is money and taxing it (growing your own = no buying and paying taxes, unless they tax you monthly for planting something).

that’s what you get from a province that spends a year debating whether or not store clerks should stop saying bonjour/hi.

That's beyond retarded. First, kids would guaranteed think weed smells like shit. Hell 99% of kids these days can't stand the taste or smell of anything other than mcdonald's because of terrible parenting. Second, even if a kid managed to eat a whole disgusting tasting bud it probably wouldn't have enough activated cannabinoids to do much of anything.

"If my grandchildren go to my neighbour's house and inadvertently get into the marijuana plants and eat them, that's not good. "

I'd be more inclined to worry about the fact that your grandchildren are wandering around eating random plants like they are moles or something, before worrying about anything else.

Seriously though, I'm from Quebec, and I have to say this doesn't surprise me in the least. The stuff I hear on the radio from there (don't live there anymore, but it still interests me), it's hilarious.

exactly, LOL

Salutations,

Easy going from Home Cultivation to Québec Bashing in just a few posts is only more confirmation that « Divide to Conquer » was all too convenient a strategy for the Liberals of Trudeau. So i'd suggest anyone tempted by more love-of-hate/hate-of-love should redirect some of this popular energy, these days (...), in focussing some more attention on who's the "expert$"/"spe¢iali$ts" representing "science" at official levels, then connect the dots. Because they don't have any love to share and even less for a fragmented "us" anyway.

Welcome to the Wall-of-Shame, again. :|

Egzoset - Manitoba has decided to do the same as Quebec ----- no home cultivation. And a strict limit of 30 g, even at home, because well ---- no one could ever reasonably want/need to have more than 30 g. Little to no public consultation, no idea of how many retail stores or their locations, hours of operation or additional provincial taxes.

I really have the fear that all Cannabis will be sold by the gram only, to force us to pay $13/g (sorry for the pricing discussion mods, this is hypothetical only, please feel free to delete this post if it violates :)).

I already gave up my car because of Marijuana - what's next, some blood?

Salutations Thomas Davie,

Little to no public consultation...

Thank you for offering an opportunity to recenter on the announced topic...

Actually it seems in Québec even existing "consultation" echoes failed to reflect what one could expect after assuming the average Canadian got properly informed - which is where the trouble kind of began quite early, long before Lucie Charlebois came out of the woods... ...where her grandchildren awaited while dreaming of some raw marijuana snack in the neighbourhood!

uhoh.gif

I really have the fear that all Cannabis will be sold by the gram only...

Any money grab performed by politicians would be a hint of pre-programmed sabotage compatible with mafia-height greedy objectives and i only need to refer to Québec's GreenHouse Producers to illustrate this as they already commented it's possible to offer a 10-fold reduction in costs compared to what's put forward today...

Le cannabis serait 10 fois moins cher dans les serres (2017-Dec-1)

I already gave up my car because of Marijuana...

Are you confirming there's civil asset forfeiture in the CDSA? And if so was it a legacy of Harper or wasn't it added through 1 of the *10* (ten) CDSA modifications performed under Trudeau??

confused.gif

Which would constitute yet another clue suggesting that the "need" to wait for Justin's "Cannabis Act" was little more than a political decoy meant to buy him more time, awaiting for 2019.

...what's next, some blood?

M'well, Trudeau expressed his intention at TLMEP via SRC (2014-Feb-23): « ...on veut réguler et contrôler pour que les gens doivent montrer les cartes d'identité... », in other words he wants us officially identified, too bad he was so vague about "showing" our ID cards (vs handing them out), because more recently i've found mention on twitter (#cannabisQc) about the idea of holding a register for those who volunteer in being excluded in a similar fashion to compulsive gamers at casino doors...

Considering past repeated forms of abuse by government(s) over privacy and related issues i just can't accept being asked to get listed as if i were some wild flesh-eating animal, only to eventually end up on the hotel of bigot anti-cannabic prohibitionist sacrifices!! Not to mention my face is evidence enough that i'm well over the "legal" age anyway.

...

Thinking of hotels, this reminds me we don't know/hear much about the individuals who enjoy having a determining voice. For example:

Jean-_S_bastien_Fallu_Didier_Jutras-_Aswad_-_Full_labels_2017-_J.png

The thing is one of those persons most specially attracted Couillard's official attention (in April*) and this may prove relevant in a political context.

But before i develop on him here's yet another face i just can't afford not to mention as this was seen on TV earlier that same month(*):

2mxrj81.jpg
Senator Jean Lapointe, founder of "La Maison Jean Lapointe".

By the way:

Anonymous Montréal: Les politiciens canadiens se font aussi berner par la scientologie. (2e partie) [2009-Oct-4]

So, doesn't Narconon and Scientology ring any bells?!...

SRC: Narconon a floué et maltraité des patients, selon la Commission des droits de la personne (2014-Apr-14)

Most unfortunately this is the sort of tricks which a bigot « Divide to Conquer » strategy will allow to elude the radar, often translating as Québekers not being adequately informed about facts that occured in their own province. Imagine English Canada!

Now back to my previous focus point...

Guess who Couillard's selected psychiatrist "scientific" happened to be! ... You'd be correct if you answered the tall guy.

Hold on as this is where the best crunchy part resides, here's what i found which may improve the reader's own perspectives further...

Hear this, he apparently started flirting with politics during the Harper era as well; at least as far as 2010 as there's a picture showing him with Mélanie Joly at the Royal Ontario Museum:

Didier_Jutras_Aswad_M_lanie_Joly_-_Business_for_the_Arts_-_Roy.png

Indeed that's the same guy who got paid by Pfizer in 2013 to produce a study on 120 studies, later mentioned via "Découverte" on national TV the year after:

oswux2.jpg
SRC: Quels sont les effets du cannabis sur le cerveau des adolescents? (2014-Nov-10)

...or more recently subsidized by Insys Therapeutics (manufacturer of the SUBSYS sublingual Fentanyl medication...) to work on CBD for opioïd treatment:

finance17.jpg
Nasdaq: Insys Therapeutics starts enrollment in cannabidiol trial (2016-Aug-16)

The funny detail being that Didier never felt appropriate to refer to CBD while he had the stage this summer.

Now please tell me i'm not the only Québeker around who can manage to contibute to the announced topic, instead of you know what sort "science" leading to my [ IGNORE ] list...

The development of black markets has led to more and more people around the world becoming victims of fraud. There are no statistics on fatalities because black market purchases are not recorded and it is difficult to keep track of all of these cases. For the most part people buy cannabis to cope with everyday stress, in order to avoid becoming a victim of cheating, I decided to use https://www.tillmanstranquils.com/product/cbd-gummies-1500mg-melatonin/. How do you feel about organic supplements? I think they are safer, what do you use?

You learn to snap out of it real fast ! Believe me !! And it sure is so much way better than being Drunk all of the time. Duhhhhh.

Sounds like a bunch of scaredy weirdo's wow.

Win some, lose some. I've moved to Nova Scotia where home cultivation is legal, but only government stores - which are actually good for price/selection, even if the products carried typically don't vary much.

Quebec has government stores, no home cultivation and a 5mg edible limit (per individual consumption) in one package. Is there a provincial or federal court case pending that will render a verdict on home growing?

With the Conservatives getting in power provincially in Nova Scotia (August), I'm hoping to see some Cannabis reform including; private stores, legal delivery and couriered Cannabis, direct farm sales and consumption lounges (aka Amsterdam style coffeeshops). Basically if you don't own property, you could be forced to consume Cannabis illegally

Tom and take the risk of a ticket/fine.

Quebec is a lil different always. Here in Ontario you can grow but chances if the plants are outside someone will steal them. Even though they are useless.
