pregabalin - somewhat experienced - a personal summary of effects.

I've been taking a modest dose of pregabalin for a while now, ocasionaly taking more to test the waters. This is what i have to say about it. This is just my personal experience.

The feeling or headspace of pregabalin is one of psychedelics or dissociatives in addition to that of a benzo type drug. It's very different to any other class of drugs ive tried in this aspect and yet this feeling is subtle, and in low doses usualy non existent.
There is almost always a euphoria, not the euphoria opiates for example give though. It's more an almost anxious, energetic, yet pleasant euphoria. It also manifests physicaly as a warm feeling in the stomach and as pleasant Tactile sensations. This effect is notable at any dose for me. There is also mild sedative and relaxing effects, which are more prominent at higher doses.
Music is certainly different on pregabalin although I don't find it as enhanced as with cannabis as many users report, but rather to be more absorbing and capable of inducing a sort of trance, as music can anyway but in a more intense way. Music may also be more meaningful, beautiful, but not on par with the euphoric quality cannabis gives it. Sounds may also be more crisp or louder. There is also dissociation, a dissociative feel especially at the peak and sometimes the come up. Things have a different look to them and it's easy to be overwhelmed by and lost in music or thought, I haven't noticed any derealisation, which i consider unpleasant, just a feeling of being wrapped up in a thin veil of trippiness, for lack of better words. Colours seem somewhat brighter, and vision may seem to be of a better standard, more defined and "HD". Visuals are rare for me but when they occur they are minor, mild tracers are the most common ones, along with fleeting after images and faint colours, occasionally objects may breathe or change size a little. Higher doses have produced mild, faint fractals with eyes closed on par with a hit of strong weed or two, but these have never became immersive for me. There is a nice boost to my energy level, and I may want to move around or dance. All I can compare this too is the boost of a can of energy drink.. I've never taken mdma or major stimulants. when lying down, I may feel I am being pulled backwards or melting into the bed, for example, which can be snapped out of to an extent. I do notice an increase in feelings of love and empathy too, but this also happens to me on opiates although in a more "fuzzy" way if that makes any sense at all. My libido is definatley enhanced and sex or pornograpy can be twice as enjoyable as it is sober. I don't really get sleepy on this drug, and if taken in the evening it will actualy prevent me getting any prolonged or deep sleep. Sense of taste is enhanced. Anything tastes alot better on pregabalin. I also experience Cottonmouth, though not as consistently as with cannabis.
Overall I'd describe pregabalin as having qualities similar to z drugs (particularly zopiclone) as well as very mild but notable euphoric/stimulant, psychedelic and dissociative effects. I find pregabalin synergies well with opiates, and even more so zopiclone, although I only take small doses of these with it and do not recomended anyone do this simply because they heard it from me, dose too high and you may hurt yourself. Thankyou for reading.

Pregabalin is awesome, one of the best feelings I've had from any drug. Lasts so long too. Haven't taken that for years but you're making me want to.

Don't you get a lack of coordination?

No I don't although I've never taken a very high dose, and also I seem somewhat tolerant of the sedative effects, probably as I have a tolerence to benzos and other cns depressants, yet I don't have a tolerence to the other effects I described above, which makes me suspect that pregabalin acts on more than just gaba.

Yeah one of the best feelings of all time from drugs ( and I do mean that literally) was my first time taking pregabalin.. I took like 300mg. Felt like everything was amazing for the rest of the day, had some discoordination for sure but also this most incredible serene sense of happiness and contentment. I was experiencing phenibut withdrawal then and The dose 100% eliminated that and made me feel so wondrously high. Like a cross between MDMA and what I imagine a quaalude to feel like. I spent the whole day telling my ex-girlfriend how much I loved her, and having epic conversations. Honestly it was possibly the best I've felt from drugs, period.

I love phenibut and I use it regularly, and phenibut has some of the same characterstics, but is much more transparent and focused on the social/motivation elements of the high. Pregabalin was like super phenibut, kicked it all up a notch and was far more physically intoxicating, but pregabalin was way more euphoric. I'd really love to feel that again. It's been a very long time.

Wow, that sounds amazing. Even at my low dose pregabalin is definitely a very unique drug, similar to cannabis in some ways but without the anxiety I get from it. It feels alot like an opiate to me, crossed with something like zolpidem. Ive never done mdma but would also agree on that comparison based on the effects. Definatley a drug worthy of more investigation into its potential uses and mechanisms of action, I don't buy into the current theory of how it works on the brain but im not too familiar with calcium channels and the like. Any ideas on what receptors it may act on?

Thats what i thought but apparently it works on the alpha-2 delta calcium channel sunbit, whatever that is.

Becoming interested in this one as well. The molecule has an interesting inclusion with dimethyl end (or is it considered isopropyl?) into GABA molecule.

What's the addiction potential of Pregabalin feels like compared to, say Phenibut or benzos? Is it really that good for neuropathic pains?

For me Pregabalin is extremely addictive, that's why I don't do it any more. I found it more addictive than benzos and about as addictive as opiates. I also get a nasty rebound anxiety lasting for a few days.

Two nice things about this drug is that the duration is very long, and it is very safe even at high doses.

Thank you for the input, chasingabee, its good to know! ;)
I've found a Mega Thread for this one as well :)

I find I may get headache or muscle aches when I don't take it, and may also feel somewhat depressed, however I am going through snri withdrawal, which interestingly I find pregabalin far more effective for than anything else such as benzos for example.
