I have been taking xanax for a while now. So , I have built some tolerance. I am running short of xanax now and so, I want to use grape fruit juice or cimetidine to potentiate it. I am planning to take around 100 ml pure white grape fruit juice.. is it enough for 5 mg xanax? Also, it gives the buzz equivalent of taking how much amount of xanax (mg)?

Yes, grapefruit will affect the metabolization of Xanax, as grapefruit decreases the activity of the CYP3A4 liver enzyme. It's difficult for me to say, though, whether this will "potentiate" the effects of the Xanax, or just make the effects linger for a bit longer. And honestly, you'd probably need a lot more than just 100mL of grapefruit juice. I'm told to avoid grapefruit and grapefruit juice because of my statin, but I've been told realistically it would probably take a quart or more of grapefruit juice to cause the level of the statin to become elevated enough to become dangerous.
